Dr. Photopulos completed Fellowships in Gynecologic Oncology at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Hospital and Tumor Institute and at the University of Tennessee, Memphis. His Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology was completed at Rush Presbyterian – St. Luke's Medical Center, Chicago. He interned at Cook County Hospital, Chicago, after graduating from the University of Illinois Medical College, Chicago. He is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Gynecologic Oncology and is licensed to practice medicine in Tennessee, Arkansas, Illinois, and North Carolina. He joined The West Clinic in 1995.

Dr. Photopulos sees patients in our Memphis office. Dr. Photopulos specializes in Gynecologic Oncology, treating cervical, ovarian and uterine cancers. Additionally, he sees women referred by their gynecologists with pre-invasive conditions such as severe endometriosis. He is one of the pioneers of this field in the Mid-South. A significant percentage of the women he treats do not have cancer.

He believes in open communication with his patients. To ensure that they completely comprehend their condition, he frequently asks his patients to share their understanding of their problem. It may take a little longer, but he finds it well worth the effort. He advocates good health practices such as sensible nutrition, appropriate exercise and vitamins as indicated.

He feels the facilities of The West Clinic are superior and commends its caring staff for making the clinic a special place for patients.

Dr. Photopulos relishes time with his family and thrives on spoiling his granddaughter. He enjoys an active lifestyle, which include playing tennis and golf.
