West Clinic and Memphis Heart Clinic Open New Brighton Clinic
(Bringing State-of-the-Art Cancer and Cardiac Care to Tipton County and Beyond)

MEMPHIS, TN  January 12, 2009 – The West Clinic and Memphis Heart Clinic are pleased to announce the opening of their Brighton, TN location. Dedicated to providing leading-edge cardiac and cancer care to the residents of Tipton County and beyond, the spacious new center will offer state-of-the-art treatment for cardiovascular disease and all cancer types in a compassionate and comfortable environment. The grand opening ceremony will be held Wednesday, January 28th from 8:00 am until 10:00 am. An official ribbon-cutting ceremony will be conducted at 9:00 am by the Covington-Tipton County Chamber of Commerce.

The consolidation of The West Clinic and Memphis Heart Clinic in the new Brighton location is the realization of a broader vision and ongoing commitment to the residents of Tipton County. According to Steve Coplon, CEO, “It is with great pleasure that we open the new Brighton clinic. This office will be the beachhead of operations for both The West Clinic and Memphis Heart Clinic – for those living in the greater Millington, Brighton, Covington, Munford, Atoka, and surrounding areas – as we consolidate into one location.”

“Amidst the many challenges in our economy, the number one and two leading causes of death in the United States remain the same – cancer and heart disease,” Coplon continued. “It is our intention to service the needs of thousands of patients regardless of the present obstacles and difficulties – to improve their lives, increase survivorship, and continue to advance care to more patients who face some of the most trying times of their lives due to their present illness. We trust that this new expanded service location will offer greater opportunity for patients to access quality medical care.”

For over 15 years, Dr. Joseph Samaha, President, Memphis Heart Clinic, has provided cardiovascular care for patients in this region at his previous location which was adjacent to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Tipton. Dr. Samaha, Dr. Arsalan Shirwany, and Stephanie Tyler, Nurse Practitioner, will serve the Brighton office.

Additionally, Drs. Robert Johnson and Gary Tian will provide care for cancer patients as The West Clinic relocates its Covington office to Brighton. The West Clinic been in Covington for six years and provided care for hundreds of cancer patients and their families.
