The West Clinic is pleased to have Janice Pazar, RN, Ph.D, HSP, on our team of health care professionals. Always striving to offer comprehensive cancer care, Dr. Pazar provides psychological assessments and counseling services to West Clinic patients and families. Dr. Pazar’s background in nursing, community health, pastoral counseling, and counseling psychology provides a backdrop of unique experience that benefit West Clinic patients.
Originally from Connecticut, Dr. Pazar obtained Bachelor’s degree in nursing from Rutgers University College of Nursing in Newark, NJ as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Boston University. She holds Master’s degrees in Health Promotion Counseling from Trinity University and in Pastoral Counseling from Loyola College in Maryland. She initially practiced as a nurse at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland and spent 20 years in the Washington, DC area. Her experience includes work at several leading health care entities including Washington Pain and Rehabilitation Center, INOVA Home Care, and Alexandria Hospital.
After moving to Memphis with her husband and two children, Dr. Pazar served as Manager for The Prescription for Health program at the Hope and Healing Center directed by the Church Health Center prior to pursuing her doctorate in Counseling Psychology. She is a member of the American and International Psychology and Oncology Societies, Oncology Nursing Society and The American Psychological Association.
A cancer survivor herself, Dr. Pazar is pleased to be part of The West Clinic’s multidisciplinary team and enjoys working with the patients and clinic providers. She feels that her background has been a step-by-step journey which will benefit West Clinic patients as they strive to live fully during their own uncharted journey through cancer treatment.
